It was one of the only time you went to school on a Saturday. It was a sekolah ganti day but the school had a Raya celebration. I came to pick you up and you were in class at that time.

You and Bak did it! You guys finished the triathlon. A first for the both of you. I am so proud of you and bak.

Selamat Hari Raya 2014 (1435 Hijrah)

After sembahyang sunat Aidilfitri at Masjid UTM near Tok Bak's house.

Hari Raya was on 28 July 2014. For the first time ever you and I went to perform the sembahyang sunat aidilfitri. Both of us slept over at Tok Bak's house on Raya eve so that is why we made it to the prayers. Usually we'd be late by the time we reach Tok Bak's house in the morning or sometimes we go to Tok's house on Raya morning and then to Tok Bak's house at noon. Anyway, I'm glad we finally made it this year! Alhamdulillah. This is also my first Raya wearing the Hijab! Double Alhamdulillah!

Ramadhan 2014 (29 June - 27 July)

You did it Arwen! Arwen berjaya puasa penuh selama sebulan! Wow! For a whole month! You really did surprise me sweetie. I didn't think you could do it but you did! Alhamdullillah! Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! You even wore tudung the entire Ramadhan even though I said it's ok not to since you are still a kid.

At the end of the Ramadhan, I asked you what was the best thing about Ramadhan? You said "Crafts!". I should have expected that - it's what I used to distract you from the fact that we could not eat or drink until Maghrib. We made lots and lots of crafts. Watched a lot MyFroggystuff channel on Youtube.

You only got out of bed for the first sahur I think. For the rest of the month - sahur in bed!! Aiyaiyai..but it was easier to bring the food to you rather than having to drag you to the dining table. Some days you went back to sleep after sahur but most of the time tak tidur pun.

29 June 2014 - First day of Ramadhan - to keep your mind off the time, we took you to watch this movie at the Strand Mall.

Oh what a sad year it has been. Another MAS plane has gone down! This time it was shot down and crashed and all 298 souls on board perished. This time on 17.7.2014. Oh Allah please help us, protect us and bless us through this trying time.

Then there is the Palestian ~ Israel conflict. Tak habis habis. All the innocent lives lost. Such horror. Where  oh where has humanity gone to? Oh Allah please help resolve this. No more unnecessary deaths, pain and suffering.

8/3/2013 - Playing real legos

In March 2013 - Bak bought legos online from the US. Its a lock, stock and barrel kind of thing with no instruction manuals whatsoever.

Real legos Bak bought online. You came up with the design. No instruction manual came with this lot.

 Well, recently in May 2013 we discovered the shop Mr. Diy. Its a cool shop with relatively cheap stuff and the best thing of all was that it had Lego imitation blocks selling for way way cheaper than real Legos! It would be nice if we could afford real Legos but they are just ridiculously expensive! Anyway, these imitation or fake legos are just as great and at least you get to try building real buildings. The blocks' brand is called Enlighten. I think its a funny name or maybe it was just meant to lighten the parent's load - so we are not burdened to buy real Legos hahaa
