3.11.2017 Last Day of Primary School

In a plot twist that we did not see coming, your last day of primary school came early because we are going to San Francisco on Sunday 5.11.2017.

The last day of school for the rest of the school kids is 24 Nov 2017. Your results UPSR is supposed to come out on 23 Nov 2017 and your teacher said they will have a graduation day for year 6. I am sorry that you will miss that but in life, sometimes opportunity knocks and we get to answer it.

It may not be the most ideal situation but seriously, this is a once in a lifetime chance that you and I may get to go the States and for an entire month at that!

I was a bittersweet day today. I cannot believe your primary school days are over.

Yesterday I went to pick you up at 4 pm after kelas tambahan. Class ended at 345pm but you always asked me to pick you up at 4pm so that you can have some time to hang out with your friends. Well, yesterday you wer at the kedai mamak with Eria drinking milo suam!! Wah...terkejut mama...hahahaaa. Well, please let me know next time you want to hang out at the mamak shop ok?

You were only 8 years old and with buck rabbit teeth. So adorable! You were so brave. I know it hurt. We did the piercing at Poh Kong Jewelers in One Utama over the CNY holidays.

This is a throwback. When you were in Year 4, you had violin lessons at the Piano Station in Sunway Giza. Lessons were every Sunday 130pm for half an hour. You started in March 2015 and ended in October 2015 because we thought we'd be moving in December 2015 and we'd be busy packing and moving.

4 June 2017 - Bak sold your trek bike to a family in Bangsar.

...and we went straight to Decathlon to buy your new bike! Aren't you fortunate? You were so tired because it is the month of Ramadhan.

Johor Bahru Trip 14-16 April 2017

We were in JB for 3 days and 2 nights for Kak Na and Kak Fida's wedding. This was our first longest road trip where Bak drove. We usually travel by plane but this time with WB881T - Bak drove. Tok was with us of course. Tok stayed at Tok Rubi's house in Taman Plentong Baru while we stayed at I am Jazz Boutique Hotel in Permas Jaya -just about 4 km away from Plentong.

You mentioned that last April, we were in Singapore. Exactly to the date actually and we also were in Melbourne about this time back in 2013. Funny eh...we didn't plan it to be like that but it just happened.

Lil Dwayne Kitty Johnson

This is the kitten at Tok Bak's house and that (above mentioned title) is the name you gave it. It is so cute. I wish we could have a huge land to save all unwanted cats from being a stray. Kittens are cute but it makes me sad to see them living in the streets, eating scraps, in danger and dirty and sick.

One year on...

29/3/17

Its been a year already since we moved to symphony hills. Feels so fast. So many things happened this past year. We had so many gatherings and people staying over in this past year compared to our whole 11 years in Kota Damansara! 

Its been a tough start for 2017 though. I just hope and pray things will get better.

One year later...

I remembered the date but I forgot to take a proper photo for the anniversary. By the time I remembered, you guys were already asleep. Well, we didn't take any beautiful photos on our first day in our new beautiful home last year anyway because everything was a mess, and we were so busy and tired. It is amazing when I think back on what we have accomplished this past year. I can't believe that we actually did it especially with all our stuff. The packing and the unpacking. It was just crazy haha Alhamdulillah, we survived. I just pray and doa that this house will be a blessing for our family. May we grow strong together and happy together. May we be protected from any outside interferences. May we blessed with rezeki. Ya Allah, please protect and keep us safe.

Hot Air balloons 10 March 2017

Finally, after 4 failed attempts of ever seeing hot air balloons during the past few years' hot air balloons fiesta, this year - we get to see it right from our living room balcony. The cats were totally shocked and spooked. I did not realise it at first but I saw Cleo with her head tilted at a 90' angle which I never saw her do. Apparently, she was looking at the big yellow duck balloon. It was so funny.

Dear Arwen

I am not a perfect mother. But I am your mother nevertheless. There may be things that I am not good at teaching you or even just to let you know. I want you to be a decent, kind, generous and humble being. Remember Allah. Love Allah swt the most above everything else. Our purpose in life is basically to serve Allah swt.

When I was little I thought my mother was the most perfect being. She is the adult and she knows all. But now I know, she couldn't have known it all but she was my mother and she did her best.

I would like to pass on these bits and pieces of information that I think would help you in the long run - when you are grown.

1) When you are married, treat your mother in law and father in law well. Be kind to them. Talk to them, make small talk, ask them how they are. Help in the kitchen. If your husband forgets to keep in touch, you remind him.

2) Love your parents. Call me - always. Talk to me. Hug me and kiss me - always. :) Always come and visit your parents.

3) In the course of your life, if you befriend a guy who is married while you are not, please don't go and do activities with him without his wife. Make sure you know the wife and speak to her personally if you have to do any sort of activities with the husband. Make sure the wife knows because sometimes the husband lies to protect himself.

4) Please don't be the third party in someone else's marriage or relationship.

5) When you want to marry - niatkan kerana Allah swt. Love for the sake of Allah.

6) Before you have children, know that they are amanah from Allah swt. It is a happy burden to have but ensure that your husband and you can guide the child to the path of Allah swt.

7) When you are pregnant, gain knowledge from Islamic books on which doa to read so you can protect the child even from the womb. I have the book in my collection if you cannot find one on your own.

8) Always be in the state of zikir. It doesn't matter what kind of zikir. We need to stack up our pahala points and this is the easiest way.

9) I pray that you will wear the hijab once you hit puberty. Not like me.

We were potty training you at about almost 4 years of age. I found a potty training video online but I can't remember on which channel. You liked it and can actually memorise the words complete with the intonation and all. You are so cute!
