Melbourne Trip - April 2013

What a wonderful time we had! 13 to 20 April 2013. Bak had to work in Melbourne and this time we could tag along. Yippee!! Alhamdulillah, rezeki daripada Allah. Thank Allah too for everything went well.

It was your first time on an overseas trip and I'm glad we went to Melbourne. Melbourne has a special meaning for your bak and I. We went to university here, well not exactly in the city. We were 2 hours away from Melbourne but Bak spent his summer holidays and every break here and even though I didn't get to spend as much time in melbourne as he did but it still has a special place in my heart.

The weather was beautiful. Not too cold and not hot either. It was the end of autumn. I was hoping it would be colder really.

The Croods

28 March 2013 - Well, finally! You watched a movie with Bak! No more "its too loud" and "nak out! Nak out!" Hehe. Yeah i think we traumatised you when we took you to the Transformers movie when you were 4 years old. So Bak is finally happy that he can watch a movie with you now.

Ice skating at Royale Bintang Hotel

29 march 2013 - we took you to ice skate. Bak didn't skate. He said its not his thing. This time was better compared to the 1st time we went skating at Sunway Pyramid. This time we had Gunther the Penguin's help. It was still hard at first for you but eventually you got the hang of it.

Pintu Rezeki

Amalan Pembuka Pintu Rezeki

(HR.Tabrani).

5.Membaca Surah al-Waqi’ah - “Barangsiapa membaca surah al-Waqi’ah setiap malam, maka tidak akan ditimpa kesempitan hidup”. (HR. Baihaqi dalam Syu’ab al-Iman).

6.Memperbanyak Shalawat atas Nabi Shallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam - Ubay bin Ka’ab meriwayatkan , bila telah berlalu sepertiga malam, Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam berdiri seraya bersabda, “Wahau manusia, berzikirlah mengingat Allah.

Keep Calm and Wear Pink

11/3/13 I had an interesting conversation with Arwen today. Well, I need to give a bit of a background story though. She can't wait to finish school - to which I previously explained that after primary school, she needs to go to secondary school and at least university, so relax and enjoy your school days etc bla bla bla. Anyhow, today she asked;
Arwen : What kind of school is "Waktu Rehat? (a tv series). Me: It's a secondary school
Arwen; How do you know?
Me; because of the uniform. You don't wear uniform in university.
Arwen; WHAT??!!! (she sounded like "how come you never told me this before???) Wait a minute. Wait a minute. (I guess she was trying to grasp this revelation that I just told her and asked....)You mean I can wear PINK????
Me; hahahahahahahaa

I  posted the above in Facebook and then I wrote this for you Wen.

Dear Daughter, I am sorry that you find school is boring. I am your mother and I'd move mountains for you if I could but for the life of me I do not know how to make school fun. Things will get better as I hope you will find some school activities that you can enjoy and good friends that you look forward to see every day. We've got a long way to go so let's take it one day at a time. Meanwhile, keep calm and wear pink clothes (when you're not in school, that is). Love, Mama.

Sleeping by yourself

14 feb 2013- We changed the place of the single bed in the master bedroom because you wanted to have a kelambu-like cover for the bed and then you said you will sleep by yourself. Which you did, well the first night i kept waking up at all hours just so i cam look at you and check that you are still asleep and did not fall off the bed. The second night, i suddenly found you sitting next to me in the middle of the night! You gave me a fright! God knows how long you had been sitting there. So you ended up in the big bed with me and bak. The third night, we got back late from tok bak's house - the usual saturdays get together. So you slept like a baby till morning. Then the fourth night you wanted to sleep with me at 2.30am. Let's see how it goes from here.

Actually we tried this sleeping by yourself at the end of 2011 as you were starting Year 1. That didn't last very long what with the cryings at school and all. We'll see how this goes :)

Solat

So its time to start. Solat 5 times a day. The sejadah is new. Mak Teh paid for it and you chose the design as mama was the one who clicked buy online. Mama berdoa agar Arwen akan menjadi anak yang solehah dan tak tinggalkan solat.

Before we prayed here in the picture, you took you showered and already performed your wuduk and then I ask you to wait while I showered. Suddenly, you came to me and asked seriously "ma, kalau main batal tak wuduk?" - you were playing lego then. It never occurred to me that you would ask that. :)
